My name is Galia Lapidot-Boaz and I am a CAPPA Certified Postpartum Doula serving the greater Charlotte NC area. I’m a wife and mother of three — ages 19, 17, and 13. In spite of three very difficult and complicated births (pre-eclampsia), I remember that the time immediately following was a wonderful experience filled with the wonder and magic of discovering a new human being.
To no small degree, my positive experience of easing into parenthood was due to the fact that postpartum support is part of the fabric of the culture of my native country Israel.
I completed a B.Ed. in creative education (toddlers through third grade), and worked for 21 years as a teacher in a preschool with one year olds and infants. I have always felt lucky that there wasn’t a day when I didn’t wake up looking forward to going to work with those children. Providing support to parents, if questions arose about child development, was no less important or gratifying for me.
After accompanying a good friend during her postpartum days while on a visit back home, I was reminded of my positive experience as a new mother and just how important new mom support is through the motherhood journey. This made me realize that many new parents in the Charlotte area may lack the opportunity to have an empathetic, non-judgmental, supportive individual present during that first crucial period after childbirth.
This resulted in my decision to make a career change and become a postpartum doula, easing the transition to parenthood by accompanying, guiding, and instilling confidence in new mothers’ instincts.
I wish to help new moms have the most positive postpartum experience possible!

When my first daughter was born, I remember until this day the scary thought while I was still in the hospital… In a couple of days I’m going home with “this thing” and no one gave me a manual…
